Environment and Conservation Minister Clyde Jackman has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

EMPLOYMENT EQUITY PLAN SATISFACTORY:

Grassy Point (Placentia Bay) Liquified Natural Gas Transshipment Terminal

Proponent: Newfoundland LNG Limited (Reg. 1304)

COMPONENT STUDY (FINAL TEXT) ACCEPTED AS SATISFACTORY:

Terrestrial Environment Component Study

Long Harbour Commercial Nickel Processing Plant

Proponent: Voisey�s Bay Nickel Company Limited (Reg. 1243)

The minister has accepted the Terrestrial Environment Component Study for the Long Harbour Commercial Nickel Processing Plant Environmental Impact Statement. Supplementary information has been provided as required. Included is an appendix on the Waterfowl Survey conducted August 2, 2007. The final text dated August 16 2007 is now available on the Environmental Assessment Division Web site.
