Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

RISK ASSESSMENT STUDY RECEIVED:

Grassy Point (Placentia Bay) Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Transshipment Terminal
Proponent: Newfoundland LNG Limited                                   (Reg. 1304)

The proponent has submitted a Risk Assessment Study as required by the Minister of Environment and Conservation as one of the conditions of release from further environmental assessment review on January 19, 2007. COMPONENT STUDY (FINAL TEXT) ACCEPTED AS SATISFACTORY

Human Health Component Study                                              (Reg.1243)
Long Harbour Commercial Nickel Processing Plant
Proponent: Voisey's Bay Nickel Company Limited

The minister has accepted the Human Health Component Study for the Long Harbour Commercial Nickel Processing Plant Environmental Impact Statement. Some clarifications and supplementary information have been provided as required and the final text dated July 2007 is now available on the Environmental Assessment Division website.
