Environment and Conservation June 20, 2007 Environmental Assessment Bulletin Environment and Conservation Minister Clyde Jackman has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act. EIS GUIDELINES: Newfoundland and Labrador Refinery Project The minister advises that final guidelines for the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) have now been provided to the proponent. The proponent may now proceed with preparation of the EIS for submission and agency/public review. UNDERTAKING REGISTERED: Penney�s Hill, Fox Trap Access Road Sand and Gravel
Quarry The proposed quarry comprises the development of an approximately 32 hectare parcel of land in an area located approximately 200 metres southeast of the Foxtrap Access Road/ Incinerator Road intersection. Construction will include a 100 metre access road off Incinerator Road. The undertaking was registered on June 18, 2007; public comments are due by July 25, 2007; and the minister's decision is due by August 2, 2007. The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
