Katarina Roxon - Breaks Another Canadian Record
Fantastic Results at International Paralympic Committee
World Swimming Championships


Thirteen-year old Katarina Roxon from Stephenville traveled to Durban, South Africa to compete with Team Canada at the 2006 IPC World Swimming Championships held November 27 to December 8. Fifty countries were represented at this competition.

Katarina placed 5th at this world championship meet in the 100 metre breaststroke establishing another new Canadian senior national record. Katarina also placed 15th in the 200 metre Individual Medley and 16th in the 50 metre freestyle.

At this time Katarina holds eight senior Canadian national records for swimmers with a disability (SWAD):

Long Course

50m Breast Stroke
100m Breast Stroke
200m Breast Stroke
200m Butterfly
1,500m Freestyle

Short Course

50m Breast Stroke
100m Breast Stroke
200m Breast Stroke
