Labrador wishes Team Gushue Sport Newfoundland and Labrador and its 48 member organizations would like to join the rest of province in wishing Team Gushue the best of luck as it goes for gold at the Olympics tomorrow. President, Tom Godden says, "Win or lose tomorrow the Gushue rink has made Newfoundland and Labrador proud with their showing at these Winter Olympics. Amateur sport in Newfoundland and Labrador is about striving to be the best you can be, no matter what level you are playing. Brad Gushue and his team should be proud of the fact that they have accomplished such an extraordinary goal." The entire province will be glued to televisions tomorrow to take in the gold medal game. Godden says, "the pure fact that amateur sport can bring an entire province together in such a manner is true testament to the impact sport has in our lives." With a guaranteed medal, Brad Gushue and his teammates join notable Newfoundlanders who have won medals at the Olympics in recent times. Dwayne Norris won a silver medal in hockey at the1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Maria Maunder won silver in rowing at the 1996 Summer Olympics, Andrew Crosby won gold in rowing at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and curler Don Bartlett from Gander won silver at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.
