Governments work in red
tape reduction awarded by the CFIB
The Government of Newfoundland and
Labrador has been recognized by the Canadian Federation of Independent
Business (CFIB) for its commitment to increased efficiency through the
Red Tape Reduction Initiative.
Receiving this award from the CFIB is very encouraging, said Kevin
OBrien, Minister of Business. It reflects our focus in implementing
smart initiatives to foster a business-friendly climate and to increase
efficiency for all residents of this province, as promised in our
Blueprint for the Future. The commitment of our Premier to this
important work in regulatory reform has resulted in this award and in
the recognition by the business community that we are headed in the
right direction.
MHA Paul Oram, chair of the Red Tape Reduction Task Force, accepted the
award on behalf of government at a breakfast celebrating the 35th
anniversary of the CFIB.
Minister OBrien offered his congratulations to the organization. I
applaud the CFIB on their leadership and dedication to the growth of
small and medium-sized businesses. Thirty-five years is a significant
milestone and I wish them many more years of success.
