NOTE TO EDITORS: Vessel reconfiguration is in progress

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that the MV Nonia and the MV Beaumont Hamel are currently encountering storm conditions.

The MV Nonia is encountering weather difficulties on route to Portugal Cove where it will begin operation on the Portugal Cove Bell Island ferry run. The MV Beaumont Hamel has also experienced severe weather conditions, creating difficulties in reaching Farewell, where it will replace the MV Earl Winsor on the Fogo Island Change Islands ferry service. The MV Beaumont Hamel is currently sailing toward Fogo.

Both vessels will go into service as soon as they are able to reach their respective ports. A further announcement will be made at that time.

Until that time, the MV Earl Winsor will continue to service the Fogo Island Change Islands run, and the Portugal Cove Bell Island operation will be serviced by the MV Flanders.
