NLVA announces Canada Games Female Volleyball Team roster:

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association announced today the final roster of the 2005 Canada Games Female Volleyball Team. The selection process commenced four years ago during the elite development program where athletes were identified throughout each region of the province with each competing for a spot on the NL provincial team. Twenty-six athletes were selected for the training squad in September 2004 with each player vying for a spot through vigorous training and competition which included training camps throughout NL and Cuba.

The Canada Games Ladies Volleyball Team departs on Thursday, July 14, for Montreal, Quebec, to take part in the Montreal Cup. Canada Games teams from Quebec, Manitoba, and New Brunswick will be competing in the exhibition tournament. The games will commence on Friday and end on Sunday, July 17 with the championships games. The ladies team will be competing in preparation for the Canada Summer Games taking place in Regina, Saskatchewan, during the 2nd week of August.
