The following is being distributed on behalf of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

2005 Eastern Canadian Championships

Five teams from Newfoundland will be traveling to Wolfville, Nova Scotia to participate in the 2005 Eastern Canadian Basketball Championships.

Representing the province in the girls U13 division will be the Crusaders from Corner Brook and the St. Kevin�s Mustangs from the Goulds. MacDonald Drive Grizzlies from St. John�s will represent the province in the girls U14 division.

St. John Bosco from Shea Heights will participate in the boys U13 division and Beaconsfield, of St. John�s will compete in the U14 boys championships.

Other provinces represented in the tournaments include Quebec, PEI, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The games will commence on Wednesday, June 29 and wind up Saturday with the championships games in all four divisions.
