NOTE TO EDITORS:

On Thursday, April 28, media representatives are invited to attend community celebrations at Miawpukek First Nation (Conne River) for the signing of the Self-Government Framework Agreement and to announce an Agreement of Land Transfer for the expansion of the Samiajij Miawpukek Reserve.

In attendance will be Saqamaw Misel Joe of the Miawpukek First Nation, Tom Rideout, Minister responsible for Aboriginal Affairs for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Senator Joan Cook of the Government of Canada.

The event begins with the Grand Entry at 7:00 p.m. in St. Anne�s School at Miawpukek First Nation.
