NLIS 2 March 11, 2005 (Government Services) CONSUMER ADVISORY The Consumer and Commercial Affairs Branch of the Department of Government Services wishes to advise travelers that the provincial government was not pre-notified of the closure of the discount airline Jetsgo. The branch advises travelers with Jetsgo tickets to check with either their travel agent or credit card company to see if they have protection. If the ticket was purchased by credit card, most credit card companies do offer customers credit card protection in the event of an operation�s closure. The airline industry is a national industry that is federally regulated. The travel industry is responsible for protecting their consumers. The provincial government does not have a fund to protect people who lose money through business closures.
