Premier comments on deputy minister of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs position

Premier Danny Williams today announced that Bill Flowers has changed his mind on accepting the position of deputy minister for Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs.

"Mr. Flowers told the government yesterday that he had a change of heart and could not accept the position because of personal family reasons," said Premier Williams.

"I accept Mr. Flowers' decision, we are obviously disappointed, and we are moving forward," he said. "We will commence immediately the process to recruit another candidate to fill this key position as quickly as possible."

Sean Dutton will continue to serve as acting deputy minister of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs.
