Road work announced for Kilbride District

Tom Rideout, Minister of Transportation and Works, and Ed Byrne, Minister of Natural Resources and MHA for the District of Kilbride, today announced road work for the district valued at $400,000, under the 2004 Provincial Roads Improvement Program.

"I am pleased to announce that government will provide funding to the City of St. John�s to assist with the continued upgrading of Doyle�s Road, leading to the Goulds Bypass Road," said Minister Rideout. "The 2004-05 provincial budget allocated $30 million for improvement and construction of provincial roads, a $7 million increase over the previous year demonstrating government�s commitment to providing a safe and reliable transportation network within our province."

"I am delighted that the government will commit to the upgrades necessary to provide safe access to the Goulds Bypass Road," said Minister Byrne. "I�m sure it will be a welcomed addition to the roads network in the greater St. John�s area."
