Road improvements announced for Trinity-Bay de Verde

Tom Rideout, Minister of Transportation and Works, and Charlene Johnson, MHA for the District of Trinity-Bay de Verde, today announced roads upgrades for the district to be completed in 2004 -05.

"The Department of Transportation and Works recognizes the importance of a safe and reliable infrastructure. This year�s program provides funding for upgrading and improving the provincial highway network, including major trunk roads, community access roads and local roads," said Minister Rideout. "There are projects planned for Trinity Bay de Verde that meet that criteria."

  • Projects planned for the Trinity Bay de Verde district include:replacement of existing pipe arch on Route 70;
  • upgrading and paving at Ochre Pit Cove and Old Perlican;
  • upgrading and paving Back Road, Grates Cove;
  • upgrading and paving Route 70, Bay de Verde Barrens.

MHA Johnson said, "The work planned for the district is very much in need. These projects will improve the infrastructure in the area and benefit residents and local businesses alike."
