Road work announced for Humber East District

Tom Rideout, Minister of Transportation and Works, and Tom Marshall, MHA, today announced road work for the District of Humber East.

"The department strives to maintain a safe and reliable transportation infrastructure network for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. Funding in this year�s program provides for upgrading and improving the provincial highway network, including improvement to community access roads and local roads," said Minister Rideout. "To this end, we plan to spend some $300,000 in road work in the district of Humber East."

Projects for the district of Humber East include rehabilitation of Steady Brook Overpass on the Trans Canada Highway and repair rutting on the old Trans Canada Highway, near the Diemer Property in Pasadena.

MHA Tom Marshall said, "I am pleased that government is committed to enhancing infrastructure and the safety of the roads network in the district."
