Road projects announced for district of Conception Bay East-Bell Island

Tom Rideout, Minister of Transportation and Works, along with Conception Bay East-Bell Island MHA Dianne Whalen, today announced that funding from the 2004 Provincial Road Improvement Program has been allocated to the district.

"Under this year�s Provincial Road Improvement Program, we plan to upgrade and pave Karwood Extension, as well as upgrade roads on Bell Island," said Minister Rideout. "Valued at $540,000, this is part of government�s commitment to a safe and reliable transportation infrastructure."

Conception Bay East-Bell Island MHA Dianne Whalen said she is delighted government is improving the roads on Bell Island. "This will go along way in improving the lives of those who live on the island, as well as benefitting other industries, such as tourism," she said.
