The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Midget hoop teams off to national championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will be sending two teams to Halifax, Nova Scotia on Monday, August 2, to compete in the 2004 National Midget (U15) Boys and Girls Championships.

The girls program will compete against Ontario on Tuesday, Manitoba on Wednesday and British Columbia on Thursday. The boys will face Ontario on Tuesday, Manitoba on Wednesday and Saskatchewan on Thursday. Friday will consist of semi finals and the various placings for the provincials across the country. The championship games are set for Saturday evening. Both programs will return to the province on Sunday August 8. Members of both programs include:

Midget Boys Team:
