2004 National Senior Championships - Weightlifting

The Newfoundland and Labrador Weightlifting Association (NLWA) is pleased to announce that Newfoundland and Labrador will have strong representation at the 2004 National Junior Championships to be held in Montreal, Quebec, on June 12-13. Approximately 80 athletes from across Canada will compete for national titles.

The team will be coached by Jim King (Grand Bank) and Bert Squires (Marystown). This is the largest team we have ever sent to the national championships. Nick Roberts is a potential medal winner in the 85kg category. Nineteen-year old Matt Maxwell of Corner Brook also qualified for this competition, but can not attend due to other commitments. We will forward the contest results when they are available (tentatively Monday, June 14).
