Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers
NOTE TO EDITORS:
Newfoundland and Labrador will be the site of
the 29th Annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern
Canadian Premiers in St. John�s, on August 22 and 23, 2004. The theme is
Choosing our Future.

The Conference of New England Governors and
Eastern Canadian Premiers is an inter-regional, bi-national, trans-border
organization established in 1973 in recognition of the special bond that
exists between the six New England states and the five Eastern Canadian
provinces. Its members are the governors and the premiers of those provinces
and states. The meetings are held alternately in New England and Eastern
Canada. Last year�s meeting was held in Groton, Connecticut.

The Media Centre will be located in the Avalon/Battery Rooms, on the Lower
Level of the Fairmont Newfoundland Hotel and will be opened as follows:

The Media Centre will be equipped with
telephones, television monitors, and a fax. Photocopy services will also be
available.
Accommodation
Media representatives are responsible for their own accommodation. A block
of rooms has been reserved, for $150 CAD per night, at the Delta St. John�s
Hotel and Conference Centre from August 21 to 23 inclusive. For reservations
call, 1-800-268-1133 and refer to Block Code GCJENC, before August 5, 2004.

All media representatives wishing to attend this meeting must complete and
