Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act:

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Pasadena Multi-Seasonal Recreation Facility                                (Reg. 1145)
Proponent: Western Sno-Riders Snowmobile Club Inc.

The proponent intends to transform the former Pasadena Rod and Gun Club site for a variety of outdoor recreational interests including snowmobiling, boating and biking (bicycles, dirt bikes and ATVs). A marina will be developed and snowmobile and bike racing/practice tracks will be constructed. The marina will consist of a rock-filled breakwater, two rock-filled crib finger piers and floating docks to provide sheltered anchorage for 52 boats. The 350 metre long four-lane grassed drag strip will include indication and control lights and spectator bleachers. The bike racing track will be developed over 1.5 hectares of the 5.3 hectare site. The proponent hopes that construction can be completed by October 2005. The project was registered on August 5; public comments are due by September 10; and the minister's decision is due September 19.

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
