The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

National ID Basketball Camp/Coaches Clinic

Canada Basketball�s National Women�s Identification Coach, Christine Stapleton, will be in St. John�s this weekend in conjunction with the AUS Championships at Memorial University. She will hold an under-16 female camp for 50 athletes selected by the Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association on Friday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. There will also be 50 selected athletes attending an over-16 identification camp on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

A coaching clinic will also be offered to coaches, FREE of charge on Saturday afternoon from 2:00- 4:00 p.m, introducing specific skills for specific age groups. Coaches must register with the NLBA prior to attending by contacting the NLBA office at (709) 576-0247 or via email nlba@sportnf.com.

Also planned is a high school all-star game to showcase the talent of female basketball in this province to Christine Stapleton and all attending AUS coaches. All events will be held in the old MUN facility, except for the high school all-star game Sunday morning, which will be held at Field House.
