Appointments to Hall of Fame Board of Governors

John W. McGrath, chair, Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Hall of Fame and Dave Brenton, president, Sport Newfoundland and Labrador announce the following appointments to the Hall of Fame Board of Governors.

Mac Rideout, of Mount Pearl, a former St. John�s Athlete of the Year and all star baseball pitcher with the St. John�s Capitals and Provincial Terra Novas;

Jack Hurley, of St. Phillips, a former baseball and basketball player with Holy Cross and the top professional tennis coach in the province;

Doug Fowler, of St. John�s, a former player and soccer coach with Feildians, a member of the Sports Hall of Fame and former president and coach with Boxing Newfoundland & Labrador; and,

Walter Crotty, a past member of the Hall of Fame selection committee and former executive director of the Newfoundland and Labrador High School Sports Federation.

The appointments are for three years.

Nominations for 2003 selection to the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Hall of Fame shall be received prior to August 22, 2003. Nomination forms can be obtained by contacting,
