NOTE TO EDITORS:

Members of the media are invited to a news conference to launch the Atlantic Canada Tourism Partnership�s project for 2003-2006. This project represents a significant initiative that will have a major impact on the tourism industry across Atlantic Canada.

Dignitaries expected to take part in the announcement include: Gerry Byrne, Minister of State for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA); Julie Bettney, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation for Newfoundland and Labrador; L. Joan MacAlpine, Minister of Tourism and Parks for New Brunswick; and key representatives of the tourism industry in Atlantic Canada.

The news conference will take place on Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m. in the Bay of Islands Ballroom of the Holiday Inn, 48 West Street, Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, followed by a multi-media presentation designed by the ACTP to showcase Atlantic Canada to international audiences.
