Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED:

  1. Moosehead Lake Cottage Access Road
    Proponent: Doug Rice
  2. Parsons Pond Access Road and Exploratory Drill Oil and Gas Well
    Proponent: Contact Exploration Inc.

The undertaking is released from further environmental assessment subject to the following conditions:

  • An impermeable barrier be installed under the drill site and berm to prevent fluids from seeping off the drill site.
  • A contingency plan must be provided to this department, for approval prior to construction, describing methods of dealing with accidental and unplanned situations that could possibly occur during the life of the project.

   3.   Golden Sands Resort (Burin Peninsula) Pitch & Putt Golf Course
         Proponent: Crosswinds Enterprises Ltd.

The undertaking is released from further environmental assessment subject to the following condition:

  • All greens must be situated no less than 50 metres from any waterbody.
