The Newfoundland and Labrador Division of the CME is a private sector industry association representing the provinces manufacturers and exporters. It works with various partners to create a favourable climate for manufacturing, and provides member companies with information critical to operating effectively in today's competitive and rapidly changing world. This initiative is being supported through the Local Labour Market Partnerships component of the Canada/Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement ($162,000) and ACOAs Business Development Program ($70,000). The Canada/Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement is co-managed by the Government of Canada, through Human Resources Development Canada, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Local Labour Market Partnerships is one of the Employment Benefits and Support Measures (EBSMs) offered under the agreement. The measures are funded, in whole or in part, by the Government of Canada from the Employment Insurance (EI) account. Non-commercial investments through ACOAs Business Development Program support the promotion of entrepreneurship, trade, marketing and education through industry, community, youth and business associations.
