Roads upgrades planned for Port au Port

Works, Services and Transportation Minister Percy Barrett, along with MHA Gerald Smith, today announced this year�s provincial roads projects for the district of Port au Port.

"We realize improved transportation is important to residents in the Port au Port area and we are glad to invest in upgrading roads in this area," said Minister Barrett. "Motorists can expect better driving conditions upon completion of these projects."

Projects planned for this year include erosion protection for the road at Fox Island River; resurfacing a section of Route 463 near West Bay; and resurfacing a section of Route 463, Lourdes to Mainland.

"I am pleased to see these road infrastructure improvements will be carried out this year," said Minister Smith. "These projects will improve our highway network and enhance the transportation of goods and people around the province."

Tenders for these projects will close in mid July with the work expected to be completed by the end of September.
