NOTE TO EDITORS:

Julie Bettney, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will sign stewardship agreements along with the Town of Flowers Cove, students at Straits Elementary and residents of the area, to confirm their commitment to the Limestone Barrens Habitat Stewardship Program. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Straits Elementary in Flowers Cove.

The goal of the Limestone Barrens Habitat Stewardship Program is to enhance local and regional knowledge and to preserve the limestone barrens ecology and rare plants.

The minister will also announce the launch of the National Recovery Plan for Long�s Braya and Fernald�s Braya.
