Arts and Letters Awards to be presented June 1

Julie Bettney, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation will host the 50th anniversary of the Arts and Letters Awards on Saturday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Arts and Culture Centre, St. John�s.

It will be an evening of readings, performances and the presentation of the 2002 awards in both senior and junior divisions. Join Tom Dawe, Agnes Walsh, Carmelita McGrath, George Morgan, and many others as they present winning works from the past half century.

The awards show is open to the public and all media and tickets are free. As well, there will be a reception to follow which is also open to the public. Everyone attending the awards show will receive a complimentary commemorative booklet. All tickets must be reserved in advance by calling Regina Best at The Arts and Letters Office, (709) 729-5253.
