Minister announces opening dates for visitor information centres

Julie Bettney, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, announced the opening dates for the province�s visitor information centres. The 2002 opening and closing dates for visitor information centres are as follows:

Argentia                  May 16 - October 2
Whitbourne              May 16 - October 15
Clarenville                May 16 - October 15
Notre Dame             May 16 - October 15
Deer Lake                May 16 - October 15
Port aux Basques     May 16 - October 15
North Sydney           May 16 - October 15
Gulf Ferries              May 16 - October 15

"Our visitor information centres are an important part of ensuring both residents and non-residents have the vacation of a lifetime when travelling our province," said Minister Bettney. "These centres distribute the information needed to have an enjoyable and memorable vacation in Newfoundland and Labrador. I thank the people who will work in these centres for their efforts towards another successful tourism season."
