Newfoundland and Labrador representatives to participate in world�s largest oil and gas show

On Tuesday, Newfoundland and Labrador participants will be in Calgary for the Global Petroleum Show 2002, one of the world�s largest oil and gas shows. The Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development will lead the Newfoundland and Labrador delegation.

"Our petroleum industry continues to grow and develop," said Industry, Trade and Rural Development Minister Kelvin Parsons. "We now have several ongoing projects and the possibility of further development is heightened with the recent decision in the Laurentian Basin boundary dispute. There are scores of opportunities available for Newfoundland and Labrador and now is the perfect time to promote ourselves and our capabilities on the world stage at events like the Global Petroleum Show 2002."

The provincial delegation includes representatives of:

  • City of Mount Pearl;
  • ConPro Group Limited;
  • D.O.O.R. Canada Inc., St. John�s;
  • Memorial University, Department of Earth Sciences;
  • Newfoundland Ocean Industries Association, St. John�s;
  • Robinson Blackmore Printing and Publishing, St. John�s;
  • Secunda Marine Services Ltd., St. John�s;
  • Town of Paradise;
  • Grand Bank Development Corp.; and
  • Argentia Management Authority.

The Global Petroleum Show takes place from June 11-13. It is a pivotal showcase for world-class technology in the fields of exploration, production and transportation of oil and natural gas. In 2002, the show will be held in conjunction with the Petroleum Society's 53rd annual International Petroleum Conference. Together, these two events will attract an anticipated 50,000 visitors from around the world.
