NOTE TO EDITORS:

Media representatives intending to cover the installation of the Lieutenant Governor on Friday, November 1 are asked to contact the Communications and Consultation Branch at (709) 729-3812, (709) 685-3664 by 3 p.m., Thursday, October 31.

The House of Assembly Broadcast Centre will provide a media feed. Media representatives are asked to be in place by 2 p.m. on the day of the ceremony.

The ceremony will be carried live on television over the House of Assembly Channel.

ARRIVAL OF PARTICIPANTS - 2:10 p.m. - 2:20 p.m.
Gerry Byrne, Minister of State for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency representing the Government of Canada, and Ms. Denise Gibbons, arrive at Confederation Building and are greeted at the front entrance by the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, Roger Grimes and Mrs. Mary Ann Grimes.

Clyde K. Wells, Chief Justice of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Mrs. Eleanor Wells arrive at Confederation Building and are greeted at the front entrance by the Premier and Mrs. Grimes.

The Lieutenant Governor Designate, Edward Moxon Roberts, QC, and Mrs. Eve Roberts, QC, are greeted at the front entrance of Confederation Building by the Premier and Mrs. Grimes.

CEREMONY - 2:30 p.m. - approximately 3:30 p.m.
The Premier and Mrs. Grimes accompanied by the Chief Justice and Mrs. Wells, the Speaker of the House Lloyd Snow and Mrs. Linda Snow, the Registrar General Oliver Langdon and Mrs. Margaret Langdon, Minister Gerry Byrne and Ms. Gibbons, and the Clerk of the Executive Council Deborah E. Fry enter in procession to the House of Assembly, led by the Sergeant at Arms Elizabeth Gallagher.

The Lieutenant Governor Designate and Mrs. Roberts accompanied by Wayne Mitchell, Private Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, are led into the chamber by the Sergeant at Arms.

The Lieutenant Governor proceeds to the saluting base to receive the Vice Regal Salute from the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Lieutenant Governor receives a 15 gun salute. (Guns will be set up in the east parking lot)

The Lieutenant Governor inspects the Guard of Honour

The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Roberts and Premier and Mrs. Grimes form a receiving line to receive guests in the lobby of Confederation Building
