Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Ralph Wiseman has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act.

NEW UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:

Mount Pearl Hot-Dip Galvanized Manufacturing Facility
Proponent: Bruce Enterprises Limited

The proponent intends to relocate their hot-dip galvanized manufacturing facility for machine bolts from their existing location in St. John's on Water Street to a new 4,000 square foot metal building proposed to be located on Kyle Avenue in Donovan's Industrial Park, Mount Pearl. It is anticipated that construction will take three months and start immediately after permits are obtained. The project was registered on March 4; public comments are due by April 9, and the Minister's decision is due by April 19.

UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED:

Hiking Trail - Pouch Cove to St. John's
Proponent: East Coast Trail Association

Storage for Tubulars Contaminated with NORM (radioactive) Scale
Donovans, Mount Pearl
Proponent: ASCo Canada Ltd.

Springdale Fuel Storage Bulk Facility
Proponent: Gary Rolfe Limited
