Pepsi Midget A and B Provincial Girls Volleyball Tournaments


The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association will be hosting two of 21 Pepsi Minor Provincial Championships for the 2001 season, this weekend on February 23-24 . The Midget A event will have 10 teams compete for top honours in Grand Falls Windsor, with all matches to be played at Exploits Valley High Greenwood Division. The teams will be broken into two divisions with the top two from each advancing to the playoffs that are scheduled for late Saturday afternoon. Division A is comprised of the following: EVH Eagles, and EVH White from Grand Falls-Windsor, CBS Sabres, Ascension - Bay Roberts, Humber Valley Havoc - Corner Brook. Division B EVH Blue - Grand Falls-Windsor, Gander Collegiate, Corner Brook Midgets, Smallwood Academy - Gambo, and Roncalli - Avondale.

The Pepsi Midget B Girls Championship will be held in Springdale at Indian River Middle and High Schools, with 11 teams set to see action in two divisions. The top two teams will qualify for playoffs that are scheduled for late Saturday afternoon, with the final scheduled to be played at Indian River Middle School. Division A will be comprised of: Our Lady Queen of Peace - Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Springdale Midgets, Pasadena Academy, Stephenville Spartans 2, Macdonald Drive - St. John's and Strikers - Marystown. Division B will be comprised of Dorset Huskies - Pilley's Island, Botwood Collegiate, G. C. Rowe - Corner Brook, Stephenville Spartans, Discovery Collegiate - Bonavista.

Browning Harvey, who is the provincial sponsor of NLVA minor volleyball, supplies all awards for the championships.
