Revised trapping season dates in northern Labrador
Kevin Aylward, minister responsible for wildlife, advises trappers in northern Labrador of further revisions to fur zone boundaries and trapping season dates for the upcoming 2001/02 trapping season. These revisions are in addition to those recently announced in the Newfoundland and Labrador Hunting and Trapping Guide - 2001/02, and are being implemented to address concerns identified in the northern portions of Labrador with the delayed opening of the trapping season for the 2001/02 season.
These revisions will see the creation of the Labrador South and Labrador North Fur Zones. For the Labrador South Fur Zone, there are no additional changes beyond those previously announced in the Newfoundland and Labrador Hunting and Trapping Guide 2001/02. Revised trapping season dates for the Labrador North Fur Zone are identified below.
