NOTE TO EDITORS: Opening celebration of Battle Harbour as a Receiving the World Communications site, July 17.

Yvonne Jones, MHA-Cartwright-L�Anse au Clair, on behalf of Kevin Aylward, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, invites the media to the opening reception celebrating Battle Harbour as a Receiving the World Communications site. The reception begins at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at the Battle Harbour Salmon Store, Battle Harbour.

Battle Harbour was selected for a wireless station in the early 1900's because of the fishing traffic on the Labrador coast.
