Pepsi Provincial Midget Volleyball results

The NLVA would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all teams that participated in the NLVA Pepsi Provincial Midget Championships during the past weekend. The results of the events are as follows:

Midget A girls event in Grand Falls-Windsor was won by CBS Sabres, who defeated Corner Brook Midgets in the final 2-0 by scores of 25-13, 25-19. The bronze medal was captured by Roncalli of Avondale 2-0 over Humber Havoc of Corner Brook by scores of 25-14, 25-22. CBS earned the right to go to the final by defeating Roncalli 2-0 by scores of 25-13, 25-19 in a semi. Corner Brook Midgets defeated Humber Havoc in the other semi final 2-1; the scores were 25-21, 21-25, 15-10. The all stars from the weekend were Julianna Philpott � EVH, Noella Kenny � Humber Havoc, Samatha Dawe � Ascension Collegiate, Sasha Wilkens � Smallwood Academy, Heather Butler � EVH Blue and Dani Walsh � Roncalli. The most spirited player was Reanon Morgan from CBS Sabres.

Midget B girls event, held in Springdale, was captured by Discovery Collegiate from Bonavista, who defeated Marystown 2-1 by scores of 18-25, 25-19 and 15-9. The bronze was won by G. C. Rowe from Corner Brook by defeating MacDonald Drive � St. John's, 2-1, by scores of 25-23, 21-25, 15-11. In the semi final matches, Marystown defeated G. C. Rowe 2-0 by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and in the second semi final Discovery Collegiate defeated MacDonald Drive 2-1 by scores of 25-23, 21-25, 15-11. The all stars from the weekend were Amanda Baker and Jennifer Morrissey from Marystown, Krissy Duffett and Ashley Fifield from Discovery Collegiate, Jennifer Regular from G. C. Rowe and Amy McClintock from MacDonald Drive. The most spirited player was Ashley Fifield from Discovery Collegiate.

Midget A Boys was played in CBS with Summitt Volleyball Club from Clarenville defeating the Braves from St. John's 2-0 by scores of 25-16, 25-16. The CBS Sabres, who defeated Roncalli 2-1 by scores of 20-25, 27-25, 15-11, captured the bronze medal. In the semi final matches, Summitt defeated Roncalli 25-23, 25-18 and Braves defeated Sabres Bulldogs, 20-25, 25-21 and 15-12. The all stars for the event were: Nick Higgins and Mackenzie McNeil from the Braves, Patrick Whelen from Roncalli, Keith Abbott and Ronald Hynes from Summitt and Ryan Kirby from Sabres Bulldogs. The most spirited player was Alan Griffiths from Roncalli.

Browning Harvey, who is the provincial sponsor of NLVA minor volleyball, supplies all awards for the championships. Any further information may be obtained by calling the NLVA at 576-0817.
