Garrison Guitars launches revolutionary new line
and
officially opens state of the art manufacturing facility

Garrison Guitars is unveiling its new line of acoustic guitars and officially opening its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Donovans Industrial Park today. Brian Tobin, Minister of Industry Canada, and Beaton Tulk, Minister of Industry, Trade and Rural Development were the guest speakers and were on hand for all the celebrations.

The launch comes on the heels of Garrison Guitars receiving the prestigious 2001 Canadian Innovation Award for Process Efficiency yesterday in Montreal. The award is the highlight of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters annual conference and recognizes Canadian companies who have demonstrated innovative excellence.

"We have experienced tremendous growth in such an amazingly short amount of time," Garrison president Chris Griffiths says, "and the fact that were celebrating so much now is awesome. I think its a result of having all the right elements in place for success: we have an incredibly dedicated and committed staff, we are doing business in a remarkable province, and we have outstanding support from so many people and organizations. And then to be honoured by the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters with this prestigious award, is simply mind-blowing."

"I congratulate Chris Griffiths and his talented team at Garrison Guitars on their official opening. The Government of Canada is very pleased to be a partner in this ambitious endeavor, which is revolutionizing the guitar manufacturing industry," said Minister Tobin.

"In our Report on the Renewal Strategy for Jobs and Growth, government recognizes small-scale manufacturing as an important growth industry," said Minister Tulk. "Chris Griffiths with his revolutionary new guitars targeted at high-end international niche markets is an important contributor to the growth of small-scale manufacturing in Newfoundland and Labrador."

Invited guests can tour the state-of-the-art factory and mingle with Garrison employees to get a true feel for the operation. After their addresses, Minister Tobin, Minister Tulk, and the media took a private tour of the facility, led by president Chris Griffiths. This followed the official unveiling of the Garrison Guitar line. The launch featured entertainment from local favorites Barry Canning, Billy Hickey and Rick Hollett, and Conn OBrien.

Garrison Guitars product line includes a full range of acoustic guitars priced and constructed for the most novice of players to the most advanced. The line begins with the G-10 and follows through to the cream of the crop G-50. Todays launch provided the first opportunity for the public to view the new line and the technologically-driven factory.
