Minister addresses plastics industry symposium

Beaton Tulk, Minister of Industry, Trade and Rural Development, is guest luncheon speaker today at "Profits through Plastics" symposium that is taking place at Glynmill Inn, Corner Brook.

The plastics industry symposium is designed to bring industry, government and community representatives together with potential investors and entrepreneurs to explore national and international industry trends, discuss basic plastics production methods and how specific technology can be appropriately adapted to the manufacturing environment in Newfoundland and Labrador.

In addition to Minister Tulk, speakers during the symposium include Pierre Dubois, president of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association.

The symposium is organized by the Crown of the Valley Development Corporation (operator of the Town of Pasadena's Venture Centre), with the support of the Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development, the Humber Economic Development Board Inc., and the Canadian Plastics Industry Association.
