Pinware River Provincial Park to remain open

Charles Furey, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, today announced that Pinware River Provincial Park will remain open until September 18.

"Extending Pinware River Provincial Parks closure date from September 5 to September 18 will allow the park to accommodate the late tourists that this park usually experiences that time of year," said Minister Furey. "With the recent opening of the Red Bay National Historic Site, we anticipate that the south coast of Labrador will experience a considerable number of these late tourists, as many will want to include a visit to this historic site a part of their visit to Newfoundland and Labrador."

The September 18 closing date is similar to the majority of the provincial parks and staff at Pinware River Provincial park are prepared for the short extension to the operating season.
