NOTE TO EDITORS:

Members of the media are advised that a news conference will be held on Wednesday, November 10, at the Hotel Newfoundland, Salon B, St. John's at 9 a.m. The purpose is to outline the site plan, media coverage and corporate sponsors for the Debut 2000 Countdown Concert and international broadcast from the St. John's waterfront on New Year's Eve. Among those in attendance will be Charles Furey, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation; St. John's Mayor Andy Wells; Oceanex Vice President of Operations John Majchrowicz; and Sgt. Bob Garland of the Special Events Committee of the City of St. John's. The media will also be taken on a tour of the site.
