Members of the media are advised that a briefing will be held on Friday, November 5, at the Oceanex Boardroom, Suite 320, 432 Water Street (Blue Peter Steamships Building,) St. John's at 10:30 a.m. The purpose of the briefing is to outline the plans for the Debut 2000 Countdown Concert and international broadcast from the St. John's waterfront on New Year's Eve. Among those in attendance will be Charles Furey, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation; Oceanex Terminal Manager Glen Etchegary; and Sgt. Bob Garland of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. The media will also be taken on a tour of the site.
