Canada's largest full service performance improvement
 marketing company visits western Newfoundland

Charles Furey, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, is pleased that Maritz Canada Inc., Canada's largest full-service performance improvement marketing company, visited western Newfoundland last week on a company incentive trip. Maritz chose Strawberry Hill Resort for their executive recognition weekend. The group of 22 spent three days hiking, sea-kayaking, fishing and touring Gros Morne National Park and surrounding areas.

"Newfoundland and Labrador has only recently been targeting incentive travel as a niche market with potential for development. Our adventure travel products combined with our first-class services and amenities, are making their mark in the incentive travel marketplace," said Mr. Furey.

Incentive travel is a global management tool that uses an exceptional travel experience to motivate and/or recognize participants for increased levels of performance in support of organizational goals.

Maritz Canada Inc. operates under the international umbrella of Maritz Inc. and have many Fortune 500 clients including Ford, IBM, and Nortel, to whom they provide business solutions across a full range of services including research and assessment, communications, training and strategic incentives, including travel.

"With companies such as Maritz expressing interest in Newfoundland and Labrador for their own corporate retreat, it speaks well for the continued growth of this lucrative market," said Furey.
