Forums on Gulf Ferry Service to take place next week

Charles Furey, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, Rick Woodford, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Walter Noel, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, will participate in open meetings on the Gulf Ferry service beginning on Monday, September 13.

The forums will take place in:

Channel/Port aux Basques


Corner Brook


Grand Falls-Windsor


Placentia


St. John's
Kinsmen Centre
September 13

Canada Games Centre
September 14

Main Hall, Arts and Culture Centre
September 15

Star of the Sea Hall
September 16

Delta Hotel Conference Centre

September 17

The format for the forums is as follows:

OPEN HOUSE

An open house will be held to provide interested visitors with briefs and fact sheets relating to specific elements of the current service, as well as options for a future service.

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Port aux Basques, Corner Brook, Grand Falls -Windsor and Placentia

1:00 - 5:00 p.m. - St. John's

FORUM

The forum will be a three hour session. The first two hours will feature presentations and remarks made to the forum partners by registered participants. The last hour of the forum will be an open discussion where other people in attendance will have an opportunity to share their views.

7:00 - 10:00 p.m. - Port aux Basques, Corner Brook, Grand Falls -Windsor and Placentia

1:30 - 4:30 p.m. - St. John's

PARTICIPANTS:

The public forums will be held in partnership with Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador (HNL), the Newfoundland and Labrador Chamber of Commerce, the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) and the Truckers Committee.
