Confederation exhibit opens at Provincial Archives

The Provincial Archives of Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased to announce the opening of By a Narrow Margin: Newfoundland's Confederation Story.

This exhibition provides the public with a unique opportunity to share the archival record of the events leading up to March 31, 1949. Visitors to the exhibit will be able to view the photographs, posters, newspapers and official documents produced during the National Convention and the referendum campaigns, and also cast their own ballot for the form of government that they would choose for Newfoundland. Ballots will be collected until June 3, the date of the first referendum. The results will be posted in the exhibit gallery.

The Provincial Archives invites you to join them for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Confederation, and to have your say in our Provincial Archives Referendum. Exhibit hours will be:

Monday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
