Chance Cove Provincial Park opens for season

Charles J. Furey, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, today announced that the gate to Chance Cove Provincial Park, located 15 km southwest of the community of Cappahayden, on the southeastern tip of the Avalon Peninsula was opened on Friday, March 12.

Minister Furey stated that this action is being taken prior to the park's opening date for the 1999 season to permit anglers access to the portion of Chance Cove Brook presently open to angling of sea run brown trout. Angling for this species only is permitted from the mouth of the river to one kilometre upstream.
