Eleven provincial companies to
participate in Team Atlantic Mission to New England
Premier Brian Tobin announced
today that 11 companies from the province will participate in the Team
Atlantic trade mission to four New England states in early April.
The Newfoundland and Labrador
delegation will host companies from a variety of business sectors. Company
representatives are attending from Austin Advertising (1985) Ltd., Computers
and Communications Ltd., Genesis Organic, Infomedia Services Inc., INNOVA
Multimedia Ltd., NewTech Instruments Ltd., Purity Factories Limited,
Stitches from Salmonier Inc., True North Springs, Wide Body R.V. Industries
Ltd. and xwave solutions.
"This trade mission will
give Newfoundland and Labrador an excellent opportunity to expand on our
export initiatives with New England and increase awareness of the products
and services we have available," said Premier Tobin, who will be
addressing a business luncheon co-hosted by the Massachusetts Trade Office
in Boston on the first day of the mission. "The companies attending
from the province represent a cross section of strong industries in
Newfoundland and Labrador, each of which has the potential to increase their
exports,"
In addition to Premier Tobin and
the Newfoundland and Labrador delegation, Team Atlantic will also include
Premier Pat Binns of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia Premier Russell
MacLellan and Premier Camille Theriault of New Brunswick, along with 10
companies from each of the respective provinces.
The purpose of the trade mission
is to establish new business partnerships, increase trade and investment,
and build strategic alliances between businesses in Atlantic Canada and
companies located in New England.
The four day mission will begin
in Boston, Massachusetts on April 11 and then travel to Burlington, Vermont;
Manchester, New Hampshire; and Portland, Maine. In each location there will
be appointments arranged with American firms that are potential customers
for the companies travelling on the trade mission.
Team Atlantic is an
initiative of the Conference of Atlantic Premiers and is being funded by the
Canada/Atlantic Provinces COOPERATION Agreement on International Business
Development, a pan-Atlantic trade agreement between the federal government B
represented by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), the
Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Industry Canada B
and the four provincial governments.
