Environmental Assessment Bulletin Environment and Labour Minister Oliver Langdon has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown for each item. NEW UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:
The proponent plans to construct a two kilometre road in the Roddickton area, off the Horse Chops forest access road, to access a hunting lodge on Shoal Brook Pond. Construction of the road is planned to begin in mid-August and will take approximately seven days to complete. The undertaking was registered on July 5, 1999; public comments are due on August 6, 1999; and the minister's decision is due on August 19, 1999. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT AND COMPONENT STUDIES SUBMITTED:
The proponent has submitted an addendum to the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) including an addendum to the Fish and Fish Habitat Component Study and a revised Water Resources Component Study. These are intended to predict and evaluate the environmental impacts of the proposed facility. This document is available to the public and comments may be submitted in writing to the minister. August 6, 1999 is the deadline for the receipt of public comments on the Component Studies; public comments on the EIS must be received by August 20, 1999.
