Busing for Chalker Place

Education Minister Judy Foote today announced that free busing will provided for the kindergarten to grade six children in Chalker Place who live 1.6 kilometres from their designated school, Bishop Field Elementary.

"From the top of Chalker Place to the main entrance of Bishop Field School the distance is 1.6 kilometres, the minimum distance from which busing can be provided," said Ms. Foote.

Earlier measurements taken were less than the 1.6 guideline, however the minister requested that the distance be measured from the homes at the top of Chalker Place to the main entrance of Bishop Field Elementary and the distance measured was 1.6 kilometres.

Department officials are working to ensure a bus will be available for Monday morning.
