NOTE TO EDITORS:

The book "The Millennium Arrives - The Journey of the Newfoundland Flotilla `97" by Gerta Woodberry will receive its Newfoundland and Labrador launch this Friday, February 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Royal Newfoundland Yacht Club, Greenslade Road, Long Pond, CBS.

The author will be in attendance, along with former Premier Clyde Wells, who was patron of the Newfoundland Flotilla, which became a highlight of the province's Cabot 500 Anniversary Celebrations.

Author Gerta Woodberry was the only female skipper in the Flotilla, which departed Toronto on May 10, 1997, and was on hand to greet the Matthew when it arrived at Bonavista on June 24. Her account details the entire course of the Flotilla, which was a volunteer project

initiated in Toronto by Newfoundland yachtsman Bob O'Brien.

Further information may be obtained by calling Cynthia Layden-Barron, (709) 781-0064, or Lorraine McGrath,(709) 726-0932.
