The following is being distributed at the request of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency:

Allergy alert - Presence of undeclared peanut in Planters Roasted Sunflowers Seeds, Salted

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning consumers with an allergy to peanuts not to eat Planters Roasted Sunflower Seeds, Salted, sold in 908 gram plastic bags with the UPC code 0 58716 98530 2. The product may contain peanut or peanut residue which can cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with a peanut allergy.

JVF Canada Inc., Toronto, Ontario, is recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The product is distributed across Canada. There have been no reports of illness.

Consumers may return this product to the point of purchase.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
